ParallelDrive Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ParallelDrive ("we", "us") handles your information when you use the ParallelDrive application at paralleldrive.web.app (the "Service").

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in (email/password, Google, or GitHub), we receive your name, email address, and a profile photo URL via Firebase Authentication.
• Your content. Files and folders you upload, create, or organize, plus their metadata (name, size, type, timestamps).
• Google Drive data (only if you use "Import from Google Drive"). With your explicit consent we request read-only access (drive.readonly) solely to let you select files and copy them into your ParallelDrive storage. We read the files you choose only to perform that import.
• Usage/diagnostics. Basic performance metrics (e.g., page-load timings) to keep the app reliable.

How we use information

To provide and operate the Service: authenticate you, store and display your files, enable sharing you initiate, and perform a Google Drive import when you request it. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Google user data — Limited Use

ParallelDrive's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Drive content accessed via the import is used only to provide the import feature you invoked, is not transferred to others except as needed to provide the Service or as required by law, is not used for advertising, and is not read by humans except with your consent or for security/legal/abuse purposes.

Storage and security

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage). Access is restricted by security rules so that, by default, you can access only your own data.

Sharing

Files are private by default. They are shared only when you explicitly share them, mark them public, or where required to operate the Service or comply with law.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. Files you delete are moved to trash and removed per the app's retention schedule. To delete your account or data, contact us at the email below.

Your choices

You can revoke ParallelDrive's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account permissions.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
